ICTP announces its new logo ahead of its official launch at World Travel Mart on November 8 at the Excel centre in London, England

Written by  Peter Barker

As announced in eturbo news  the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) revealed today its new logo, graphically representing the organization’s objective, which shows there is strength when tourism destinations collaborate. ICTP supports quality destinations that are committed to green growth.

ICTP

ICTP President Geoffrey Lipman commented about the meaning behind the graphics of the new logo stating, “The ICTP logo represents the strength in collaboration (the block) of many small communities (the lines) committed to sustainable oceans (blue) and land (green)."

ICTP is a new grassroots travel and tourism coalition of global destinations committed to quality service and green growth. The organization helps member destinations and their stakeholders share quality and green opportunities, including tools and resources, access to funding, and education and marketing support.

ICTP advocates sustainable aviation growth, streamlined travel, and fair coherent taxation, and the organization is committed to helping spread the benefits of travel and tourism across communities, cities, and regions, particularly in emerging and developing countries.

ICTP
ICTP believes that the emerging concept of gross national happiness – measuring quality of life beyond gdp - is a good reflection of its central aim of quality travel and tourism delivery built on a green growth platform.

ICTP’s official launch ceremony will take place during the 2011 World Travel Market in London, where postcards will be circulated about the new organization.

The event will be hosted at the Seychelles stand (AS550) on November 8 at 1600 hours at Excel Conference Centre in London.

ABOUT ICTP

ICTP (International Council of Tourism Partners) is a force for socially-responsible and green travel and supports the UN Millennium Development Goals, the UN World Tourism Organization's Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, and a range of programs that underpin them. It is currently represented in Haleiwa, Hawaii, USA; Brussels, Belgium; Bali, Indonesia; and Victoria, Seychelles. Members include countries, regions, and cities. Current members include Seychelles; Komodo, La Reunion; Johannesburg; Rwanda; Zimbabwe; Oman; Grenada; as well as Saipan, Hawaii, and Richmond, Virginia, USA.

ICTP members benefit from joint marketing and branding opportunities in primary and secondary markets, which are ideal for small- to medium-sized destinations that may not have the resources for developing and implementing projects independently. ICTP provides its members with the tools to help them market their destination, including help with finding new revenue streams and funding support, and providing special services from similarly committed suppliers. It also helps destinations to understand the opportunities and challenges from green growth as well as to engage employees and stakeholders in adapting to the paradigm shift and engaging with visitors accordingly.
